The project was released in November 2025 under the name Warelay, was later renamed Clawdbot and then Moltbot, settled on the name OpenClaw in January 2026 and quickly went viral, while drawing criticism over security risks such as public exposure, malicious plugins, and prompt injection; as of October 2026 it is stewarded by the nonprofit OpenClaw Foundation and open-sourced under the MIT License.Open the full entry in late January, created the agent on February 6, and then continued expanding the devices it runs on and the ways of interacting with it. 2026On Attention, AI, and Founders
In an a16z interview released on June 22, 2026, Woo and Jake Paul introduced Anti Fund’s $100 million growth fund. Woo argued that as AI lowers the cost of some technical work, trust, attention, and relationships become more important in business competition.[29]
In his advice to young people, Woo still emphasized foundations in mathematics and computer science, and said that one can prove one’s ability through school, competitions, or high-level skills. On August 19, 2026, in a published excerpt from the fund’s monthly letter, Woo said that Anti Fund Growth I had officially closed at more than $110 million, above its original $100 million target.[30]
He summarized his investment thesis as value flowing to scarce resources: as verifiable intelligence becomes cheap, manufacturing capacity, proprietary data, trust, and attention may become more important. He explained that early-stage investing focuses on scarce talent, while the growth stage focuses on opportunities to invest in high-quality companies. This was his investment framework at the time.[30]
