July 2018Counsyl Acquired by Myriad Genetics
February 2019Stanford Lecture on the Crypto Ecosystem
On February 13, 2019, Srinivasan gave the talk Building the Cryptocurrency Ecosystem at Stanford. He compared the crypto industry to the early mobile internet and discussed how programmable finance and token incentives could change fields such as social networks, banking, collectibles and real estate.[7][8]
In the same talk he also discussed the limits of blockchain applications, including software bugs, privacy problems, lost keys, and the trade-offs between self-custody and institutional custody. These points were his analysis of the industry at the time.[7]
May 2019Leaving Coinbase
On May 3, 2019, Srinivasan announced that he was leaving Coinbase, and a company spokesperson subsequently confirmed it. In his departure note he reviewed work including the Earn integration, new asset listings, USDC, and staking and voting features.[9]
July 2022Publishing The Network State
On July 4, 2022, Srinivasan confirmed on his personal website the publication of The Network State, available to read online and in PDF and Kindle editions. The book proposes first forming online communities with a shared purpose and capacity for collective action, then crowdfunding physical territory and seeking diplomatic recognition; it is a concept of social organization that he put forward.[10][11]
2023Bitcoin Price Bet and Early Settlement
In March 2023, Srinivasan predicted that bitcoin would reach $1 million within 90 days and entered into a bet on it. On May 2, with the prediction unfulfilled, he negotiated an early settlement, paying $500,000 in USDC each to James Medlock, the bitcoin development organization Chaincode Labs and the charity GiveDirectly, for a total of $1.5 million.[12]

Bhd., the entity operating Network School in Forest City, and ordered activities to stop from July 22. Srinivasan had denied on July 18 that the project had closed, explaining that part of the dispute concerned adjacent premises and signage permits. The subsequent license revocation changed that status.
