在2024年12月发表的访谈中,他表示“AI is pretty close to being able to formalize an awful lot of human mathematics”(AI 已非常接近能把大量人类数学形式化)。
他表示,按正确性评分“just adds a huge incentive for them to use AI for homework instead of doing it themselves”(只会大大促使学生用 AI 代写作业),并且“penalizes students for honesty”(惩罚诚实的学生),因为“There is no easy way to tell the difference between human and AI-generated work.”(没有简便方法区分人写的作业和 AI 生成的作业。)[18]
他承认新做法“not a very good system”(不是很好的制度)。他认为,若 AI 保持目前的进步速度,“in a few years, there’ll be nothing human mathematicians can do that AI can’t do better”(几年后,人类数学家能做的事 AI 都会做得更好),并称以往技术突破曾淘汰手工织布业,但“This is the first time anything like this has happened in mathematics, though.”(但这在数学界尚属首次。)[19]
Gritsch [2]
