Founding and Public Launch

Odin was founded in 2021 and launched publicly in April 2023 after 18 months in beta. It generates digital legal documents for startups and fund managers and tracks investor signatures and payments; investors can put in as little as $1,000 and are pooled into a single entity to simplify the cap table. About 70% of its business came from the UK.[1]

$3 Million Seed Round

Odin announced a $3 million (£2.4 million) seed round raised mostly through its own platform from 220 angel investors, the venture firm Haatch and family offices including O’Shaughnessy Ventures, Material V and IPQ Capital. By then 5,000 users had invested in more than 300 businesses through the platform.[2]

Co-founder and CEO Mary Lin is an angel investor and software engineer who previously worked at Entrepreneur First; co-founder Patrick Ryan previously worked at the equity crowdfunding platform Crowdcube. The platform charges fundraisers a fixed fee plus a percentage of funds raised.[3]
