Taru Kapoor is a technology entrepreneur and founder and CEO of dating platform Rivet. When Tinder announced its first operational office outside the United States, it named Kapoor head of India. Based in Delhi, she was responsible for local brand development, user growth and engagement through localization.[5]
2020Supporting Advertising for Women Entrepreneurs
Tinder pledged up to $1 million in in-app advertising for women entrepreneurs in India. Kapoor, then general manager of Tinder and Match Group India, presented it as a way to help women-led businesses reach prospective customers.[6]
August 24, 2022Promoting Discussion of Consent and Dating Safety
Tinder renewed its Let’s Talk Consent initiative with a short film and dating-safety curriculum. Kapoor said the program sought to help young adults understand boundaries, mutual respect and choices around giving or withdrawing consent.[7]
2023Leaving Tinder and Match Group
After eight years, Kapoor announced her departure. In a farewell post, she reflected on managing across brands and markets and on work concerning women’s agency, inclusion and consent.[8][9]
Her remit had expanded to South Asia, Southeast Asia and Turkey.[9]
2025Founding Rivet
Kapoor founded Rivet in 2025 and became its CEO.[10]

June 2026Describing Early Testing in Charlotte
Rivet tested its service in Charlotte. In June, Kapoor said it had attracted thousands of users; the company also experimented with live dating events where audiences assessed compatibility.[9]
September 24, 2026Rivet Launches Nationwide in the United States
Rivet announced its nationwide U.S. launch and disclosed $10.5 million in seed funding from investors including Peak XV Partners, Shine CapitalShine CapitalShine Capital is a U.S. early-stage venture-capital firm founded in 2020 by Mo Koyfman, with offices in New York and San Francisco. Former Tinder and OkCupid CEO Elie SeidmanElie SeidmanElie Seidman is an entrepreneur, investor and venture partner at Shine Capital. He co-founded Epana and Oyster and served as CEO of OkCupid and Tinder.
