Deedy Das

Deedy Das, also known as Debarghya Das, is a partner at Menlo Ventures investing in AI, infrastructure and enterprise software. Previously an engineer at Facebook and Google and an early builder of Glean and Glean Assistant, he helped launch the Anthology FundAnthology FundAnthology Fund is a $100 million AI investment initiative launched by Menlo Ventures and Anthropic in 2024 and financed by Menlo. Early life: upbringing and education

Das grew up between Calcutta and the San Francisco Bay Area and attended La Martiniere for Boys in Calcutta. His personal website uses both Deedy Das and Debarghya Das.⁠[1][2]

completing computer science studies at Cornell

He earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in computer science at Cornell, with interests in machine learning and information retrieval. He recalled initially considering physics before switching to computing and graduating in late 2014.⁠[1][3]

After graduation in 2014: Facebook and Google

After graduation, he worked at Facebook and then Google. At Google he contributed to query understanding and sports search, working across New York, Tel Aviv and Bangalore.⁠[3][2]

joining Glean’s early team

In 2019, he joined the startup then called Scio, later renamed Glean. He helped build enterprise search, became an engineering manager and subsequently developed Glean Assistant.⁠[3][1]

moving to Menlo Ventures

Das joined Menlo Ventures in 2024, moving from engineering and product work into venture capital. Reflecting on the transition, he said he preferred building from scratch and saw investing as a way to work with early technical founders.⁠[4][3]

helping launch Anthology Fund

Menlo Ventures and Anthropic announced the $100 million Anthology Fund on July 17, 2024. Menlo supplied investment capital and Anthropic contributed technology and ecosystem support. Das helped launch the initiative.⁠[5][6]

Menlo announced his promotion to partner on September 15, 2025, about eighteen months after he joined. The announcement confirmed his GoodfireGoodfireGoodfire is an AI interpretability research company founded in 2024 and based in San Francisco. Organized as a public benefit corporation, it was co-founded by Eric Ho, Tom McGrath and Daniel Balsam. After OpenRouter announced an agreement to be acquired by Stripe, Das and Murphy reviewed Menlo’s path from an Anthology investment to leading the Series A and participating in the Series B. The announcement described a signed acquisition agreement.⁠[4]
