Key facts
2020Establishment
Classiq was founded in 2020 by Nir Minerbi, Amir Naveh and Yehuda Naveh to move quantum development from individual circuit construction to high-level algorithm modeling. The co-founders currently serve as CEO, chief product officer and CTO respectively.[1]
September 2022Series B Expanded to $49 Million
Classiq announced an additional investment from Canadian-Israeli investor Awz Ventures, bringing its Series B to $49 million. The figure represented the expanded round, rather than the size of the latest investment alone.[2]
May 2023Fluid-Dynamics Research with Rolls-Royce
Classiq and Rolls-Royce designed a fluid-dynamics circuit with its synthesis engine and simulated it using NVIDIANVIDIANVIDIA is an American semiconductor and computing technology company that provides graphics processing units, artificial intelligence infrastructure, networking interconnects, and computing software, and is listed on Nasdaq under the ticker NVDA.Open the full entry A100 GPUs and cuQuantum. The circuit had 39 qubits and a depth of 10 million layers. This was GPU simulation, not execution at that scale on quantum hardware.[3]
June 20, 2024BMW and NVIDIA Collaboration
The company announced work with BMW Group and NVIDIA on optimizing mechatronic components and their connections. Classiq provided modeling and compilation, with complex circuits simulated on NVIDIA GPUs using CUDA-Q. The announcement said further development was needed for industrial applicability.[4]
July 23, 2024Qmod General Availability
Classiq announced general availability of Qmod, its quantum modeling language. Developers describe algorithmic intent while compilation and synthesis handle circuit implementation under hardware constraints. Native syntax, Python and graphical representations are interoperable, supporting use across execution environments.[5]
May 12, 2025$110 Million Series C Announced
The company announced a $110 million Series C led by Entrée Capital, with investors including Norwest, NightDragon, Hamilton Lane, Team8 and HSBC. Total funding then reached $173 million, supporting R&D, customer success and international go-to-market expansion.[6]
July 30, 2025SoftBank Vision Fund 2 Joins Series C Extension
SoftBankSoftBank GroupSoftBank Group (SoftBank Group Corp.) is an investment holding company headquartered in Tokyo, founded by Masayoshi Son in 1981. Starting out as a distributor of personal computer software, it moved into the internet, broadband and mobile communications, and has since become an investment group centered on AI-related assets such as Arm, the SoftBank Vision Funds and OpenAI.Open the full entry Vision Fund 2 and CDP Venture Capital invested in an extension of Classiq’s Series C. The announcement did not separately state the added amount. Funding supported product development, global partnerships and customer work across finance, automotive, telecoms, energy and pharmaceuticals.[7]
November 2025Total Funding Exceeds $200 Million
Classiq announced tens of millions of dollars in strategic financing from AMD VenturesAMD VenturesAMD Ventures is the corporate venture capital arm of semiconductor company AMD. It backs AI models, developer tools, cloud infrastructure, silicon and interconnect technologies, and provides portfolio companies with compute, engineering and market support. Its predecessor was the AMD Fusion Fund; AMD used the Ventures name in an official 2012 announcement.Open the full entry, QualcommQualcommQualcomm is a semiconductor and wireless technology company headquartered in San Diego, California. Founded in 1985 by Irwin Jacobs and six other former Linkabit colleagues, it built its business on CDMA technology and now rests on two pillars: its Snapdragon chip platforms and the licensing of cellular standard-essential patents. It has faced antitrust investigations and litigation in many jurisdictions, and in recent years has expanded into automotive, IoT, PCs and AI data centers.Open the full entry Ventures, IonQ, Mirae Asset Capital and other investors. It reported more than $200 million in cumulative funding and planned to expand global sales, support and delivery capabilities.[8]
February 2026Comcast Network Resilience Trial
Classiq, Comcast and AMDAMDAMD (Advanced Micro Devices, Inc.) is a publicly traded U.S. semiconductor company founded in 1969 and headquartered in Santa Clara, California; its stock trades on Nasdaq under the ticker AMD. The company develops CPUs, GPUs, FPGAs, adaptive systems-on-chip and related software, mainly for the data center, personal computer, gaming and embedded markets; its product brands include Ryzen, EPYC, Radeon and Instinct.Open the full entry reported a trial identifying independent backup routes when an additional failure occurs during maintenance. Classiq supplied quantum software and engineering support. The work combined quantum-hardware runs with AMD Instinct GPU simulations and was presented as a trial, not a network-wide production rollout.[9]
September 30, 2026Fault Tolerance Engine Introduced
The Fault Tolerance Engine translates optimized logical programs into architecture-aware fault-tolerant execution plans. It evaluates physical qubits, error-correction cycles, runtime and accumulated error to study implementability. Planning such an implementation is distinct from having performed large-scale fault-tolerant computation.[10]
October 8, 2026Japanese Enterprise Partnership
NTT DOCOMO BUSINESS and Classiq’s Japanese subsidiary signed a memorandum of understanding. NTT DOCOMO BUSINESS planned to market and sell the platform and jointly identify, develop and validate enterprise use cases, while Classiq provided software, algorithm expertise and technical support.[11]
October 26, 2026Intel Acquisition Agreement
IntelIntelIntel is a semiconductor company headquartered in Santa Clara, California, founded by Robert Noyce and Gordon Moore in 1968; it introduced the 4004 microprocessor in 1971, its x86 processors have long powered personal computers, it has pursued a foundry strategy since 2021, and Lip-Bu Tan has been its chief executive officer since 2025.Open the full entry announced an agreement to acquire Classiq, combining quantum hardware and software while maintaining compatibility with other hardware vendors after closing. Completion was expected in the first half of 2027, subject to regulatory approval. Official terms omitted a price; the reported $2.3 billion was not a confirmed official consideration.[12]
Platform: From Algorithm to Execution
The platform accepts algorithms expressed through functions, composition and constraints, then handles qubit allocation, uncomputation and circuit optimization. Algorithms can be recompiled for different hardware or simulators. Its execution layer manages hybrid sessions, jobs, costs and credits across providers.[13]
AI: Natural Language and Quantum Models
Quantum AI Agents turn natural-language requirements and domain expertise into quantum models for subsequent circuit synthesis. Website demonstrations cover insurance research, computer-vision edge detection and shipping-route optimization. These illustrate product workflows rather than establishing a general performance guarantee.[14]
Hardware Ecosystem: Compilation, Integration and Resource Analysis
Classiq integrates processors and simulators as execution targets and compiles, places and routes workloads for native gates, connectivity and other constraints. Fault-tolerant analysis uses a vendor’s noise model to estimate physical resources and fidelity, linking portability to the characteristics of the target hardware.[15]
