In November 2022 the Rockaway Blockchain Fund began operating under the RockawayX brand, with Viktor Fischer as founder and head and Dušan Kovačič as investment director. Over the preceding four years or so it had deployed about CZK 2.5 billion into 38 projects and 27 investment funds; investors had committed $123 million to its first fund, more than 80% of which had been allocated, roughly two-thirds into tokens and one-third into direct equity.[3]
At the time RockawayX said it managed about $500 million, including roughly $150 million in staking and about $50 million in a credit fund supplying liquidity to market makers, exchanges and DeFi protocols; its team of more than 30 provided engineering, liquidity and research support in addition to venture investing. April 2025$125 Million Second Venture Fund
On April 24, 2025, RockawayX announced that its second early-stage venture fund had closed in the first quarter of 2025 at $125 million after being oversubscribed. The fund focuses mainly on the Solana ecosystem, where RockawayX was a seed backer, and on projects that can draw on its liquidity and infrastructure capabilities. RockawayX attributed the raise to cash returned to investors from its 2021 fund (VC I), which it said had reached 2.1x DPI and 5.4x MOIC. Founder and CEO Viktor Fischer said: “We’ve been focused on the Solana ecosystem since meeting Anatoly and Raj.”[4]
The announcement said RockawayX had partnered with more than 15 Solana projects, including Kamino Finance, Squads, Fragmetric, Switchboard and DoubleZero, and planned to open the Solana City accelerator hub in Dubai with the Solana Foundation and Helius Labs. Its solver division powered intent-based applications such as Wormhole, 1inch, Mayan and deBridge, and as a European core contributor to DoubleZero it would connect more than 10 European data center locations, with the first line, Frankfurt to Prague, physically installed. The team then numbered more than 45 investment staff, researchers and engineers, many in the infrastructure division running bare-metal servers in data centers it operates in Europe.[4]
August 2026Relayer Capital Acquisition and Liquid Opportunities Fund
On August 25, 2026, RockawayX announced that it was acquiring Relayer Capital, a digital asset hedge fund firm founded by Austin Barack, on undisclosed terms. Relayer became the RockawayX Liquid Opportunities Fund, with Barack as its chief investment officer continuing to lead the strategy; the fund, open to external investors, runs a directional long/short strategy focused on undervalued liquid tokens and crypto-related equities. The deal also expanded RockawayX’s presence in the United States.[5]
The announcement put the strategy’s estimated net return for 2026 through August 21 at about 70%, outperforming an equal-weighted basket of Bitcoin, Ethereum and Solana by 86 percentage points, and labeled the figures as estimated and unaudited. CEO Fischer said: “This is the right moment for the strategy.” The accompanying company description said RockawayX had about $2 billion in assets under management and about 60 team members worldwide.[5]
September 2026Catapult RWA Accelerator
On September 24, 2026, RockawayX introduced Catapult, an evergreen accelerator that writes first checks into founders tokenizing uncorrelated, high-yield real-world assets (RWAs). It combines the firm’s venture, liquidity, market-making and vault-curation businesses, backed by what it described as a dedicated DeFi vehicle of more than $150 million for liquidity. The post cited the tokenized reinsurance company OnRe as an example: RockawayX invested in March 2025, seeded $4 million in an AMM pool, added $10 million of LP liquidity and provided $2 million to bootstrap ONyc on Kamino, and OnRe passed $300 million in total value locked within a year.[6]
