Key facts

2024 founding and team

Hamza Derbas serves as CEO and Khalid Derbas as CFO. The team combines autonomous-systems, robotics and engineering experience. It publicly launched in September 2026 after roughly two years of development in stealth.[1]

Lead investor RoboStrategy described Hamza’s background leading Apple engineering teams across algorithms, sensing, actuation and validation, and Khalid’s experience in private equity and business expansion. Its investment case emphasized complete systems and industrial delivery rather than model capability alone.[2]

Product approach and industrial work

The company positions its first robot for industrial work, combining lifting, manipulation and mobility. Initial applications include mixed-case palletizing and tote handling, with expansion into more complex material handling and assembly.[3][1]

Series A and production plans

Maven disclosed a $100 million Series A led by RoboStrategy, with LocalGlobe, Vine Ventures and XTX Ventures among the participants. Transaction counsel Fenwick confirmed the financing and said funds would support production of 250 third-generation robots and design of a fourth-generation platform.[4][2]

Gulf investors and deployment

Presight announced participation with Shorooq through the Presight–Shorooq AI and Bedaya funds managed by Shorooq. It reported robots operating up to 16 hours daily at customer sites with reliability above 99%, without publishing a complete measurement methodology or independent audit.[5]

The investors described combining capital with applied-AI expertise and industry relationships. Shorooq partner Bilal Baloch emphasized solving industrial problems sequentially with attention to returns, while Presight CEO Thomas Pramotedham stressed reliable performance in operating environments.[5]
