Foundation

Craig Hall founded HALL Group in 1968 at age eighteen with $4,000 accumulated from small ventures.[2]

Racquetball Clubs

In 1977, Hall agreed with Time, Inc. to use the Sports Illustrated brand in a partnership to develop a racquetball-club chain.[3]

Property Crisis and Restructuring

During the savings-and-loan crisis, property revenues declined and many projects required financial restructuring. From 1986 through 1992, the company concentrated on survival.[4]

Renewed Expansion

In 1994, the group pursued discounted downtown Dallas office properties for acquisition and improvement. Construction of the first building at HALL Office Park in Frisco began in 1997; the campus was later named HALL Park.[5]

Theranos Investment

The Theranos C-1 investment involving Bryan Tolbert occurred in late 2013. The court later identified HALL Group and its vehicle Hall Black Diamond II, LLC as investor-fraud victims, with Tolbert testifying about the investment.[6][7]

HALL Arts Development

The group opened KPMG Plaza in 2015 and sold it in May 2016. The 168-room HALL Arts Hotel opened in December 2019, followed in August 2020 by HALL Arts Residences, a twenty-eight-story tower with forty-eight homes.[8]
