The announcement said Gracy had previously led global expansion and growth strategy as the first managing director. She is Bitget’s current CEO as confirmed by the appointment announcement; the platform’s user base, trading volume ranking, and user growth multiple listed in the same announcement are the company’s own claims.[6]
June 2024Setting Priorities on Compliance, Web3, and User Research
After becoming CEO, Gracy Chen said in an interview that compliance, emerging markets, and Web3 were her three priorities for 2024, and that Bitget would keep expanding its wallet and ecosystem investments, connect traditional finance with crypto assets, and strengthen its spot business. On product approach, she stressed that all employees should actually use the platform, and that feedback should be gathered continuously through interviews, surveys, usability testing, and social media.[2]
June 2024Explaining Results Orientation, Delegation, and Global Team Management
After becoming CEO, Gracy Chen explained her team management approach in detail in an interview. She said Bitget had grown from fewer than 500 people when she joined to about 1,500, and from an East Asian team into an organization covering multiple regions; facing differences in language, culture, and product and token preferences, management drew on the OKR practices of Huawei and ByteDance and used cross-time-zone systems to track results, but discouraged elaborate PowerPoint decks and “managing up,” and did not dress up in formal packaging anything that could be explained on one page. Regional teams, being closer to local users, were given decision-making authority over areas such as marketing and sponsorships, while being held accountable for return on investment. Headcount, countries covered, and user numbers are company figures.[7]
June 2024Speaking Publicly About a Startup Failure, Family Choices, and Adventurous Interests
In the same interview, Gracy Chen named a startup failure and the end of her marriage as important personal decisions. She said she had once shut down a startup after it raised funding because of its market value and profit prospects, and at the time felt she had let down investors and the team; only later did she come to see a company’s life cycle and a proper accounting to stakeholders as issues a manager must face. She also said publicly that she is divorced, that she still needs to cooperate with her former partner because they co-parent their child, and that whether a relationship is mutually supportive is her criterion. In her personal life, she describes herself as an advanced open water diver who enjoys skydiving and polo, and says she spends most of her free time with her son. All of the above are personal experiences she volunteered in professional interviews.[7]
September 2024Using Customer Service and Product Cases to Explain “Freedom Comes with Responsibility”
In a signed article for Bitget’s sixth anniversary, Gracy Chen summarized the organizational culture as focusing on goals and results and giving employees considerable freedom, while requiring self-motivation and accountability. She illustrated this with two internal cases: the customer service team built a recovery process for problems such as deposits made on the wrong chain; and a product manager, after receiving a requirement, interviewed 12 stakeholders and, rather than copying competitors, redesigned the solution. The article said that about 170 customer service staff handled 1.5 million requests in 2024, with an average response time of about 2.5 minutes, and recovered nearly $1 million in assets; the product’s users grew by more than 50% within three months. These operating figures and causal claims are self-reported data from a signed company article and have not been independently audited.[8]

September 2025Proposing the Universal Exchange (UEX) Strategy
In an open letter for Bitget’s seventh anniversary, Gracy Chen proposed the Universal Exchange (UEX) concept, arguing for integrating centralized exchanges, decentralized on-chain assets, and traditional financial products. The roadmap she listed included more on-chain tokens, tokenized stocks, and products such as stocks, ETFs, gold, and foreign exchange, and brought AI agents and hybrid custody security mechanisms into the platform’s evolution. UEX is a product and brand strategy she proposed on behalf of Bitget, not an exchange category defined by regulators; statements such as “world’s first” are company positioning.[11]
October 2025On Career Change, Real Needs, and Family Flexibility
In an in-depth interview, Gracy Chen added that after leaving the media she took part in two Web2 startups in succession, one in fintech and the other in VR/metaverse. Her advice for people moving from traditional industries into Web3 was to first reuse existing skills, learn quickly, and direct networking toward measurable partnerships or deals rather than merely accumulating contacts. On evaluating projects, she acknowledged that some GameFi projects she invested in early on performed poorly, and on that basis stressed that products must solve real needs; founders who merely chase buzzwords such as AI and RWA without a core user problem will find their fundraising narratives hard to sustain over the long term; she also explicitly warned ordinary investors to beware of high leverage. On family, she cited a typhoon that closed schools for three days as an example, saying remote work allowed her to handle work while looking after her child, and that colleagues had seen her son on video calls. The investment gains and losses, family arrangements, and career advice above are all her own experience.[12]
2026Naming UEX, AI, and Compliance as the Year’s Three Priorities
In her 2026 New Year open letter, Gracy Chen named UEX, AI, and compliance as Bitget’s three priorities for the year, planning to expand access to traditional assets such as stocks, commodities, ETFs, gold, silver, foreign exchange, and CFDs, and to continue integrating on-chain assets and AI interaction into the trading platform. She described this direction as lowering the barriers to accessing assets worldwide. The trading volume, user numbers, waitlist, and adoption rates in the open letter are the company’s own statistics.[13]
January 24, 2026Reviewing Blockchain4Her’s Second Year
In a long post marking Blockchain4Her’s second anniversary, Gracy Chen recalled that the initiative was announced during WEF 2024 and in 2025 began shifting from a conference initiative to concrete programs. The activities she listed included Pitch’n Slay pitch events for women founders, digital skills programs connected with UNICEF and Game Changers, events for women entrepreneurs in Malaysia, the Lady Forward positioning, career events at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and programs during TOKEN2049. She also argued that Web3 companies need clear standards of professional conduct, confidential reporting channels, independent handling procedures, and anti-retaliation mechanisms, and regarded a safe, professional work environment as a necessary condition for the industry’s maturity. Figures in the post such as “300,000 young people,” “more than 1,000 students,” and “more than 200 female students” are program targets or program organizers’ statistics.[14]
May 13, 2026Meetings in New York and Miami and a Long Article on the CLARITY Act
Gracy Chen said that during business trips to New York and Miami she met with traditional financial institutions, people involved in regulation, lawyers, investment banks, peers, and competitors, and after returning wrote a long Chinese-language article discussing the U.S. CLARITY Act. The article covered the division of regulatory responsibilities between the SEC and the CFTCCommodity Futures Trading CommissionThe U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) is an independent federal agency created by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission Act of 1974 and operating since 1975 to regulate futures, options and swaps markets; it has treated bitcoin and other virtual currencies as commodities since 2015 and has been chaired since December 22, 2025 by Michael Selig.Open the full entry, trading platform registration, custody, segregation of customer assets, anti-fraud, anti-money laundering, and conflict-of-interest governance, and discussed its potential impact on U.S. exchanges, offshore platforms, stablecoins, RWA, custody, over-the-counter trading, prime brokers, market makers, and DeFi. She stated explicitly that the legislation would not automatically open the U.S. market to Bitget, and that entry would still depend on the corresponding registrations, legal structure, and infrastructure.[15]
May 31, 2026Quantum Computing Risks and Migration Strategy
Gracy Chen said she had read an internal presentation by the company’s cryptography PhD and used Gemini Deep Research to compile the risks quantum computing poses to the crypto industry. She distinguished the theoretical threat of Shor’s algorithm to elliptic curve cryptography from the engineering limits of real-world quantum hardware, and held that older addresses whose public keys have already been exposed deserve continued attention. She summarized the platform-level principle as “no panic, no rush, and no neglect”: prematurely replacing the existing security system with immature solutions could introduce new vulnerabilities, so academic research and hardware progress should be monitored continuously, with a careful migration once post-quantum solutions mature. Time estimates in the post such as “five to ten years” are her personal summary based on the internal presentation and tool-based research, and do not represent a consensus of the cryptography community.[16]
June 5, 2026From Her Child’s Use of AI to Parenting and Workflows

The efficiency improvements are her personal experience.[17]
June 2026Providing Enterprise Claude to All Employees
On June 10, 2026, Gracy Chen said publicly that Bitget had purchased enterprise Claude access for all 2,167 employees; at $200 per person per month, the monthly cost is $433,400. She explained the decision as based on observed productivity gains after employees used AI tools, and said she hoped team members would not fall behind in the AI adoption phase. The headcount, unit price, spending, and productivity improvements all come from her and the company, and there is as yet no independent cost audit or common productivity metric; however, the move shows that the AI direction she had set out earlier in strategy documents has reached company-level tool provisioning and organizational management.[18]
July 21, 2026Confirming Bitget Is Not Regulated by Singapore’s MAS
Gracy Chen pinned a repost of Bitget’s regulatory clarification on her own X account. The quoted statement said explicitly that, as of its publication, Bitget had not obtained a license, approval, registration, or authorization from the Monetary Authority of Singapore and was not regulated by it; she also said the platform would continue to meet local regulatory requirements and build a trustworthy platform as it expands globally.[19]
