Late 2024–February 2025Establishing TWG Motorsports
TWG Global co-chairs Mark Walter and Thomas Tull established the racing business TWG Motorsports in late 2024, and it was officially launched on February 25, 2025, with Dan Towriss, Walter’s longtime partner and CEO of Group 1001 Insurance, serving as CEO. The division includes the Cadillac F1 team, created in partnership with General Motors and expected to join Formula 1 in 2026, as well as teams including Andretti Global, Spire Motorsports, and Wayne Taylor Racing.[1][1][1][1][1][1]
At the time, TWG Global’s sports portfolio included the Los Angeles Dodgers, Chelsea Football Club, the Professional Women’s Hockey League, and stakes in the Los Angeles Lakers and others.[1]
February 3, 2025Founding Member of the MIT Generative AI Impact Consortium
On February 3, 2025, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology launched the MIT Generative AI Impact Consortium, with TWG Global as one of six founding members alongside Analog Devices, The Coca-Cola Co., OpenAI, Tata Group, and SK Telecom.[2]
March 5, 2025AI Joint Venture With Palantir
On March 5, 2025, Palantir Technologies and TWG Global announced a joint venture to deploy AI in financial services such as banking, investment management, and insurance, led by Palantir CEO Alex Karp and TWG Global’s Mark Walter, Thomas Tull, and Chief Data & Analytics Officer Drew Cukor. Over the preceding year, the two companies had worked together to embed AI into TWG’s own companies. Cukor was formerly Head of AI Transformation at JPMorgan and Head of the Pentagon’s Project Maven.[3][3][3][3]
April 30, 2025Investment Collaboration With Mubadala Capital
On April 30, 2025, TWG Global and Mubadala Capital, the asset management subsidiary of Abu Dhabi’s Mubadala Investment Company, announced a multi-billion-dollar investment collaboration. As part of TWG’s $15 billion equity raise, Mubadala Capital would anchor and lead a $10 billion syndicated investment in TWG; TWG would commit $2.5 billion to Mubadala Capital products and acquire a strategic minority stake in the asset manager, with the aim of having itself and its partners and clients commit up to another $20 billion of investment capital over time.[4][4][4][4][4][4]
At the time, TWG Global had an enterprise value of over $40 billion, and its portfolio also included Guggenheim Investments, Guggenheim Securities, and Group 1001 Insurance.[4]
May 6, 2025Partnering With xAI and Palantir on Enterprise AI
On May 6, 2025, xAI, TWG Global, and Palantir announced a collaboration to help financial services providers of all sizes adopt AI across the entire enterprise, with TWG Global spearheading implementation. Mark Walter, Chairman and CEO of TWG Global, said AI should be managed by the highest levels of the C-suite rather than siloed in the technology group; Thomas Tull said the collaboration would combine TWG’s operational expertise with Palantir’s and xAI’s platform and reasoning capabilities.[5][5][5][5][5][5][5]
November 18, 2025Leading Lambda’s Series E
On November 18, 2025, Lambda announced the completion of its Series E funding round, led by TWG Global, with participation from Thomas Tull’s US Innovative Technology Fund (USIT) and several existing investors. Tull said that generating enough compute power for AI is a defining infrastructure challenge of our time and that he believed Lambda was well positioned to solve it.[6][6][6][6]
