Strobe Ventures

Strobe Ventures is a crypto-native venture capital firm headquartered in New York. Formerly BlockTower VC, it was renamed Strobe by the same team in March 2025; it invests in DeFi, infrastructure, and consumer crypto projects, and in 2026 it participated in fintech company Tare’s $13.25 million seed round.

BlockTower VC Becomes Strobe

On March 12, 2025, BlockTower VC announced that it was now Strobe, with the same team starting a new chapter. Strobe said it is a lean team by design, invests pre-consensus, and takes a hands-on approach with fewer founders; at the time it had over $235 million in assets under management and significant dry powder ready to deploy.⁠[1][1][1][1]

Investing in Dripster

On March 19, 2025, Strobe announced its investment in Dripster. Dripster is a token launchpad built on Solana that aims to reimagine how products are designed, funded, and brought to life; Strobe said the investment rests on its view of the intersection of AI and crypto.⁠[2][2]

Leading Chronicle Labs’ Seed Round

On March 25, 2025, Strobe announced its lead investment in the $12 million seed round of oracle project Chronicle Labs. Strobe said the Chronicle team wrote the first-ever oracle on Ethereum as part of MakerDAO in 2017 and spun out of Maker in the third quarter of 2023; other investors in the round included Galaxy Digital, Brevan Howard, Tioga Capital, 6th Man Ventures, and Robot Ventures, as well as individuals such as Rune Christensen, Andre Cronje, and Stani Kulechov.⁠[3][3][3]

On September 2, 2025, Strobe Onshore Fund II LP filed a Form D with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission for an offering of pooled investment fund interests; the initial filing checked hedge fund as the fund type (the September 2026 amendment changed it to venture capital fund). The fund was organized in Delaware in 2025, its investment manager was Strobe Ventures LP, and no sale had yet occurred; the filing was signed by Thomas Klocanas as Chief Investment Officer and Managing Partner. Fund II Fundraising Progress

Form D amendments filed on September 2, 2026 showed that both Fund II vehicles first sold interests on November 10, 2025: the onshore fund had sold $39,250,100 to 17 investors, and the offshore fund had sold $1,750,000 to 4 investors. The onshore fund’s registered address had changed to 300 Kent Avenue in Brooklyn, New York.⁠[5][5][5][6][6][6][5]

As of October 2026, Strobe’s core team consists of: Managing Partner Thomas Klocanas, who leads investments across DeFi, infrastructure, and consumer crypto, and who did equity research at Barclays, served as Director of Strategy at ConsenSys, helped launch White Star Capital’s $50 million Digital Asset Fund, and later was a General Partner and Head of Venture at BlockTower Capital; General Partner Steven Venino, previously a Partner at BlockTower Venture Capital and before that part of the original team at 10T Fund, who began his career at Morgan Stanley and helped manage a fund at Point72; Partner Winnie Lau, previously a Principal at BlockTower VC, who focuses on consumer crypto, DeFi, and AI; and CFO Michael Bondar, who has headed BlockTower Capital’s finance and operations since 2019.⁠[8][8][8][8][8][8][8][8][8][8][8]
