Ken McElroy is an American real-estate investor, entrepreneur and author who co-founded MC Companies and is a principal of The Founders Group. His work spans multifamily investment, property management and real-estate education through books, podcasts and videos. He has been interviewed by School of Hard Knocks.

1986–1990University Education
Early Career: From Property Management to Investing
In interviews, he recalled entering real estate by managing a 60-unit Seattle apartment building, a job that provided housing and a salary. He obtained a real-estate license while working and later moved from managing properties for owners toward participating in acquisitions.[3]
1998McElroy Management
He founded McElroy Management, working in property management and related real-estate activities.[4]
2001Formation of MC Companies
McElroy Management merged with Ross McCallister’s The McCallister Company to form MC Companies, developing its multifamily investment, development and management business.[4]

Warner Business Books published The ABC’s of Real Estate Investing, covering apartment acquisitions, evaluation of actual income and expenses, and due diligence. A contemporary Inman review valued some professional insights but considered it more useful for larger-property investors, with insufficient financing and management detail for beginners.[5]
