Dariush Soudi

Dariush Soudi was born in Iran and moved to Britain in his early teens. He recalled adjusting to English-language schooling and experiencing bullying; early newspaper profiles identified him as a British citizen.⁠[1][2][3]

He chose work over university, selling products including vacuum cleaners and fax machines. He recalled sleeping in his car during periods of poor sales and learning through customer contact and setbacks.⁠[1]

In his interview with Matt Haycox, he described assembling computers with an engineer before moving into beauty products and health clubs. He emphasized product differentiation and customer retention as lessons from those ventures.⁠[2]

In his public accounts, he described a knife-point home invasion in Britain, heart attacks and financial difficulties. He linked these experiences to reconsidering his life and business priorities; the details primarily come from his own recollections.⁠[4][5]

He later dated his move to Dubai to September 2009. Responding to business needs after the financial crisis, he began offering sales and business consulting to help clients improve performance.⁠[5]

Early reporting linked Be Unique’s development in Dubai to his 2009 relocation. As founder, he built a consultancy in marketing, public relations and social media. Its current description also lists web development, advertising, content and search optimization.⁠[1][6]

In The National, he discussed his admiration for Muhammad Ali and an ambition to build a museum in his honor. He was still seeking an investment partner; the interview did not describe a completed museum.⁠[3]

In a year-end interview, he said hospitality-related work suffered from closures while digital marketing and website demand grew, helping sustain operations. He also described workforce changes, reporting a reduction of roughly one fifth of staff; these were his own figures.⁠[7]

A 2021 profile discussed a crypto trading platform he was involved in, dating its launch to 2020 and describing spot and derivatives services. He proposed token incentives for traders; the trading volumes and growth projections in that account were operator claims.⁠[5]

At the Gulf Business Awards in Dubai, he received Inspiring Entrepreneur of the Year as founder of Be Unique Group, as confirmed by the organizer’s winners list.⁠[8]

In a published Q&A, he advocated selling around the value delivered to customers and using role-play to practice different situations. He argued that repeated practice and reviewing rejection could improve sales skills.⁠[9]

According to an interview with Dariush and Angela Soudi, they launched Gladiator Mastery events in 2022, combining entrepreneurial experience with personal development. These later evolved into the larger Gladiator Summit.⁠[10]

International Business Magazine’s 2023 winners list named him Most Inspiring Entrepreneur in Middle East, identifying him as founder of Arena Capital Consultancy.⁠[11]

He recalled pausing seminars in May because organizing and selling them was exhausting. Continued demand led him to redesign the format, lowering entry costs, adding speakers and moving to larger venues.⁠[2]

The first Gladiator Summit took place at Bluewaters Forum by Banyan Tree in Dubai. Founded and designed by Soudi, it combined entrepreneurial presentations, learning and entertainment around business and personal development.⁠[12]

The second Gladiator Summit moved to the Dubai World Trade Centre for a two-day event. The organizer described continued emphasis on entrepreneurial experience, leadership and personal development.⁠[12]

According to the author’s website, The Twelve Principles of a Modern Day Gladiator was released on December 30 as a 147-page hardcover. It draws on his experiences to discuss discipline, gratitude, resilience and personal development.⁠[13]

His In The ARENA Podcast features conversations about business and personal experience. The official catalog lists Mo Gawdat, Wim Hof and Kris Fade among its 2025 guests, discussing life, careers and development.⁠[14]

School of Hard Knocks Podcast released an approximately 54-minute interview under the spelling Dariush Soudhi, covering business setbacks, rebuilding in Dubai and pricing. Soudi also publicly confirmed his participation.⁠[15][16]

The Gladiator Summit website’s past-events record lists its third edition on January 10 at Bluewaters in Dubai, presenting it as a completed event.⁠[17]

He also founded ARENA Capital, a family-run consultancy and private investment platform. Its website lists interests including beauty and veterinary services, with an emphasis on brand positioning, operating support and expansion strategy.⁠[18][19]

He and his wife, Angela Soudi, have worked together on businesses and events in the UAE. Angela also created the Junior Gladiator Kidpreneurs entrepreneurship program for young people.⁠[10]
