Education
Goldberg holds a B.A. from the University of Missouri; the official biography does not specify her subject or graduation year.[3]
Early Career: From Assistant to Development
She entered entertainment as an assistant at Disney’s Hollywood Pictures, then spent three years at Barry Levinson and Paula Weinstein’s Baltimore/Spring Creek Pictures, progressing from creative executive to vice president of production.[4]
1999–2003Joining and Advancing at Village Roadshow
Goldberg joined Village Roadshow Pictures in 1999. In April 2003, she advanced from senior vice president of production to executive vice president and head of production, signing a three-year contract and continuing to report to chairman and CEO Bruce Berman.[4]
2007Film Development and Collaboration
A 2007 profile described her as Village Roadshow’s production president, involved in the Matrix trilogy and Ocean’s Eleven and credited as an executive producer of Happy Feet. Her responsibilities included greenlighting, development and marketing. She emphasized close collaboration and named Chip Diggins, Paula Weinstein and Bruce Berman as mentors.[5]
2010Joining Skydance
She joined Skydance in 2010 as president of production, responsible for its film slate.[3]
2013Chief Creative Officer and Television
On August 8, 2013, Skydance promoted Goldberg to the newly created chief creative officer role. Film remained her main focus, while her remit expanded across film and television development and production, working with Marcy Ross’s television division. A later company biography credits her with helping establish Skydance Television in 2013, whose series include Grace and Frankie, Reacher and Foundation.[1][6]
2015Science Fiction and Lasting Partnerships
In a 2015 Terminator Genisys roundtable, Goldberg described science fiction as both escapism and commentary on contemporary life. She saw repeat collaborations as a sign that a creative process worked and that colleagues had developed a shared language. These were her views on filmmaking.[7]
2015Choosing a Platform for the Story
She also said stories should determine a project’s scale and platform. Grace and Frankie attracted interest from a broadcast network, HBO and Netflix before its creative team chose Netflix. For Terminator Genisys, she stressed a self-contained film: planning later stories did not guarantee sequels.[7]
2018Credits and Professional Memberships
The 2018 Fallout press kit credits her as an executive producer and records Academy membership since 2007, alongside membership in the Producers Guild of America and Television Academy.[3]
2019Controversy Over the Lasseter Appointment
In January 2019, Skydance hired John Lasseter after workplace misconduct allegations prompted his departure from Disney. The New York Times reported a company spokesperson saying Goldberg and Anne Globe supported the hire; Time’s Up criticized it. Ellison cited an outside investigation, and Lasseter apologized and promised a better workplace. Goldberg’s reported role was support for the appointment, not involvement in the alleged misconduct.[8]

October 2026Plans for Distinct Studio Labels
In their post-merger staff memo, the co-chairs said Paramount Pictures and Warner Bros. Pictures would develop and release separate slates under their own logos, with distinct mandates for labels including DC Studios and New Line Cinema. They acknowledged further change during integration; these were management’s stated plans.[16]
October 2026Expansion and Integration Pressures
An October Variety report noted their expansion of Paramount’s slate and talent partnerships, while describing challenges around cost control, filmmaker relationships and the identities of Warner’s labels. These were contemporary industry assessments of integration, not completed operating results.[17]
