Key facts
2025Company Founded
Jack Kenney, Nikhil Mallipeddi, Bowen Jing and David Holmes co-founded the company. Kenney serves as CEO and Mallipeddi as president.[1]
July 2025UK Entity Incorporated
The UK entity, Divergence Labs Ltd., was incorporated on July 16 under company number 16586648 for biotechnology research and experimental development. The register lists it as active, with a registered office in Altrincham, separate from its Cambridge research premises.[2]
November 2025Cambridge Research Premises
The company reported that its UK Central Research team occupied research and office space at Cambridge’s Granta Park, bringing investment, engineering and scientific staff together. Newmark UK helped identify premises owned by Illumina Ventures and supported visits, negotiations and the move.[3]
2026Machine Learning and Experimental Data
Machine-learning head Bowen Jing leads work on generative models for antibody discovery. His earlier MIT research concerned biomolecular diffusion models for structure prediction, molecular simulation and protein design.[4]
Researcher Ezra Erives focuses on translating massively parallel experimental output into computational workflows for protein design and drug discovery. His earlier work included protein–ligand cofolding.[5]
August 2026Cell Engineering Recruitment
The company sought a principal scientist with cell-engineering experience for its Cambridge Central Research team, in a role covering cell engineering and antibody discovery. Named collaborators included Jayne Hammersley, Nathan Robertson, Dimitris Josephides and Ru Wang.[6]
October 2026Early IgE Antibody Research
Two arms anchor IgE and displace it from its receptor. The team used Claude to design these components: 20 of 91 candidates showed in vitro activity, alongside three anchor arms. Three designs outperformed omalizumab in the assay, but none surpassed parental sdAb026. This preprint precedes complete biparatopic constructs, cellular safety testing and animal studies. No human efficacy was demonstrated.[7]
October 28, 2026Nonclinical and Regulatory Expansion
Following its AnthropicAnthropicAnthropic is an artificial intelligence research and product company founded in 2021 that develops the Claude models, assistant, and tools such as Claude Code, and operates as a public benefit corporation. Dario Amodei and Daniela Amodei are its co-founders, and its research covers model safety, interpretability, and steerability.Open the full entry partnership announcement, the company sought a nonclinical and regulatory leader to oversee non-GLP and GLP toxicology, regulatory interactions and translational packages as candidates progress toward clinical development. The role was open to US and UK applicants and described responsibilities for subsequent development work.[8]
October 2026Development Pipeline
The website lists DL201 for geographic atrophy, DL202 for macular telangiectasia, DL301 for graft-versus-host disease and DL302 for food allergy, spanning ophthalmology and immunology. DL201 is preclinical; the other three are in design and engineering.[1]
