Early Life: Living Abroad and Founding Luxe Tribes

Ashley has lived in places including the United States, Nigeria, South Africa, England, Thailand, Bali, Peru, and Canada, and by 2022 had settled in Dubai. She has said that finding friends who valued and prioritised travel was always her biggest challenge, so she started Luxe Tribes as an avenue to connect with other travellers; the platform has since grown to help thousands of travellers each year plan trips, offering group travel meet-ups and private tailored experiences, with flexible payment schedules to make travel more accessible.[1][2][2][2][2]

Guest on a Refinery29 Podcast

In October 2022 Ashley appeared as a guest on Go Off, Sis, a podcast from Refinery29’s Unbothered. At the time she was a travel influencer and entrepreneur, the founder and CEO of Luxe Tribes, and also CEO of Readyhubb, a software company that helps independent beauty professionals market their services and manage appointments. Speaking about travelling as a Black woman, she said that whether you are African or Black American, people just see you as Black; she chooses to focus on herself and travel with confidence while being respectful of the places she visits.[1][1][1][1][1]

Interview with The Venture Room

On October 7, 2026, The Venture Room published a compilation of street interviews filmed on London’s Bond Street that included a segment with Ashley. She said on the show that she runs the travel company Luxe Tribes in the United States and is building hotels; she had worked as a business analyst in New York before moving to Bali and starting her travel company, which she said has done just over $40 million in business, and when she put out her first trip more than 200 people signed up within three hours. She also said that an investor who watched one of her TikTok videos documenting the hotel project reached out to her and, after multiple meetings, invested $2 million.[3][3][3][3][3][3][3]

Advice Shared on The Venture Room

“Build the community first. Give value before you ask for money.” She said she shared her journey online while travelling and built a community, so people saw her as someone they could trust to book travel, which is how she got her first customers (at 10:09 in the video).[3][3][3]

“Storytelling is going to be the biggest” opportunity for the next generation, she said, because you need to be able to tell your story and get people to connect with you (at 10:33 in the video).[3][3]

“When you build a personal brand, the opportunities come to you.” She contrasted this with networking, where you have to go to people (at 11:00 in the video).[3][3]
