Advice Shared on The Venture Room
“It’s so important to understand the value of consistency: if you’re building a personal brand, it has to be good online and offline.” She advises first working out how your personal brand shows the value you contribute to the audience you want to serve, and then thinking about how you sell as a result: build an online presence that resonates with that audience, and do the work behind the scenes offline to reach out to clients (at 10:53 in the video).[7][7][7]
“Not only do we want to make money, but how do we build that money into long-term wealth?” She argues that beyond earning money, people should think about how to turn it into long-term wealth, create a legacy, and protect it (at 11:30 in the video).[7]
“We get support, we get mentoring, we get people who know what they’re doing to help us on that journey.” She notes that banks are built on safety and, given the probability of a business failing, find it safer to lend for a sofa than for a business; entrepreneurs should first get mentoring and clarify their business plan, then go back to the bank manager with a clearer plan and the best information possible (at 11:42 in the video).[7][7][7][7]
