1985—2000年劍橋大學學位

1999—2007年衰老理論著作與SENS
de Grey於1999年出版《The Mitochondrial Free Radical Theory of Aging》，2007年出版《Ending Aging》。他提出可忽略衰老工程策略（Strategies for Engineered Negligible Senescence，SENS），即一套通過修復身體損傷實現返老還童、預防與衰老相關的疾病和死亡的方法，並參與創辦Methuselah Foundation、SENS Research Foundation和LEV Foundation，以推動SENS的研發和臨床轉化。[1]

2022年成立LEV Foundation並終止與SENS的顧問關係
2022年，de Grey在Longevity Summit Dublin上宣佈成立LEV Foundation並出任其總裁兼首席科學官；該基金會發起穩健小鼠返老還童（Robust Mouse Rejuvenation）研究計劃，首輪研究以1,000只小鼠測試雷帕黴素、一種衰老細胞清除劑、造血幹細胞移植和端粒酶表達的組合療法，每輪費用約300萬美元。[3][1]
同年，SENS Research Foundation董事會表示，此前雙方商定de Grey以顧問身份迴歸並逐步重新融入基金會，但因他“unwillingness to comply with even the most basic conditions of the agreements he signed”（不願遵守所籤協議中最基本的條件），即時終止其顧問工作。董事會稱此決定與2021年的調查無關，並表示調查發現了“poor judgment and boundary-crossing behaviors”（判斷失當和越界行為），同時稱“Dr. de Grey is not a sexual predator”（de Grey博士不是性掠奪者）。[6]
他在2023年1月發表的訪談中談及LEV Foundation與SENS Research Foundation的區別時表示：“I’m actually in control.”（我真正掌握著控制權。）[3]
