Release of the World Ultra Wealth Report 2026

On June 23, 2026, Altrata released the World Ultra Wealth Report 2026, the 14th edition of its annual report on the ultra wealthy. Defining ultra high net worth individuals as those with a net worth above $30 million, the report estimated that the global UHNW population grew 14.4% in 2025 to a record 556,850, its second consecutive year of double-digit growth and the strongest annual growth since 2017; over the past two years the population grew by almost 30%, adding more than 120,000 people. The group’s combined net worth was $63.8 trillion, of which about $26 trillion was investable assets, roughly 10% of the global investable asset stock.[3][3][4][3][3][3]

The estimates are based on Altrata’s proprietary Wealth and Investable Assets Model, covering the top 70 economies, which account for 98% of world GDP, and using residency to determine an individual’s location. By region, North America’s UHNW population grew 15% to 224,470, including the United States, up 15% to 206,880 and home to 37% of the global total; Asia grew 15.8% to 141,890; and New York remained the leading UHNW city with almost 24,000. The report also estimated that the ultra wealthy make up just 1.1% of the world’s millionaires but hold 32% of their wealth, and that the population has grown by a cumulative 255% since 2004.[5][5][6][4][4][4][4][4][4]

Altrata forecast that the global UHNW population would reach 746,570 by 2030, with combined wealth of $85 trillion, and that the share of women, 12% globally, would rise to 19% by 2040. Paul Sutton, the company’s Vice President of Sales, said the population was more geographically dispersed and more entrepreneurially driven than before.[3][3][7][7]
