Official Launch

MistTrack was created by SlowMist as an anti-money laundering tracking tool focused on combating cryptocurrency money laundering, with the stated vision of building “a crypto tracking and compliance platform for everyone.” Its change log records the official launch as April 27; the official X posts linked from the same log’s May and June updates were published in 2022.[1][1][2][3][4]

May–June 2022: New Token Support, Investigation Sharing, and the OpenAPI Module

Shortly after launch, MistTrack added support for eight ERC-20 tokens including WETH, DAI, UST, and BUSD, and began explaining the basis for its AML risk scores, namely interactions with risky entities, hacking events, or suspicious transactions; in May it added an investigation sharing function and a dark mode. On June 16, it launched an OpenAPI module allowing each user to create three keys, each callable 10,000 times per day, and added support for BNB Smart Chain.[2][2][2][4][2]

On November 21, 2025, MistTrack won the Gold Award in FinTech (RegTech: Regulatory and Risk Management) at the Hong Kong ICT Awards 2025.[5]

Tracking Thefts From Customers of Ledger Reseller CryptoBilis

On October 9, 2026, the support account of hardware wallet maker Ledger said it was investigating reports of fund losses among customers of the Southeast Asian reseller CryptoBilis and had asked the reseller to pause sales and shipments. About an hour and forty minutes later, MistTrack said on X that it was seeing Tether freeze a significant amount of USDT across addresses linked to the incident; based on its tracking, reported losses were approaching $90 million, and some affected users had contacted its team for help, which the team was following up on. The post did not state how much was frozen, nor the cause of the incident, the affected protocols, or the identity of the attacker.[6][6][6][7][7][7]

On-chain investigator Specter initially estimated the thefts at more than $86 million, while MistTrack’s estimate was closer to $90 million; these estimates had not been independently verified, and it had not been established whether every wallet counted was compromised in the same operation. MistTrack did not disclose the dollar value of the frozen tokens, making it impossible to tell how much of the nearly $90 million in losses could ultimately be recovered; freezing USDT also does not automatically return the tokens to their owners, and any restitution would require further verification and coordination with the relevant authorities or counterparties.[8][8][8][8]

Features and Product Line

MistTrack’s core features include an AML risk score, which compares an address’s historical transactions with SlowMist’s database of malicious wallets and assigns a high score to addresses linked to or receiving funds from high-risk entities such as mixers; address labels identifying the entity behind an address (such as Coinbase or Binance) and tags such as ENS, MEV bots, DeFi whales, and wallet type; transaction analysis that compiles an address’s full history into a behavioral profile and classifies transactions by signing time to infer time zones and active periods; favorites and monitoring; and an investigation graph showing how incoming and outgoing funds are related.[9][9][9][9][9][9]

As of October 2026, its product line includes MistTrack Light, a lightweight edition offered free to the community; MistTrack Premium, a professional tracing and compliance platform; SlowMist KYT, a real-time, configurable AML engine for compliance teams at large institutions; a quick address risk assessment tool; and the USDT Banned List for looking up addresses blacklisted for USDT and USDC; it also offers open APIs and MistTrack MCP and skills for AI agents. According to its website, it covers 18 major stablecoins and 19 major blockchain networks, has more than 500 million labeled wallet addresses, and integrates international sanctions lists such as OFAC’s.[5][5][5][5][5][5][5][5][5]
