Early Career: From Biomedical Engineering to Design
Flora Guo’s Chinese name is Guo Lingrui, and she also goes by Flo and floguo. She studied biomedical engineering at the University of Waterloo, later leaving the program to turn to real-world product and design problems; a Vercel event bio from early 2025 stated that she was then studying at the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Information while running an independent design practice.[1][2]
Her early work covered branding, website, and product design for clients including early-stage DeFi and AI companies as well as publicly listed quantum technology and fintech companies. Her experience also includes public service tools, pandemic data dashboards, e-commerce platform design, and serving as chief of staff at a multinational design firm.[2]
February 7, 2025Shares Her Work on Personalized Software
On February 7, 2025, Guo took part in the Vercel Community online session Crafting Personalized Software with v0, sharing her experiments using v0 to build personalized web apps, including a personal finance tracker and digital gifts for friends. The session also presented her creative process from idea to interactive prototype.[2]

January 21, 2026Discusses Agent Interface Design at Paradigm
On January 21, 2026, TechBullion published an interview with Guo that introduced her as the founding design engineer of the AI software company https://paradigmai.com/ (opens in a new window). She believes details are easily lost in the handoff between design and engineering; working across both interaction and implementation makes it possible to discover system constraints earlier, which is especially useful for AI products shaped by model behavior, latency, and uncertainty.[5]
Using large-scale research as an example, she explained how the company turns one-off chats into structured, parallel agent workflows. She emphasized that interfaces should let users see where data comes from, which steps succeeded or failed, and where uncertainty exists, and should provide ways for human intervention or rerunning part of a task.[5]
March 25, 2026Dive Club Interview
On March 25, 2026, Dive Club released an interview with Guo discussing her career development, her experience at Vercel, her role as a founding design engineer at an AI startup, and her exploration of tools such as Paper, Variant, and Claude Code. The episode listed her employer at the time as this AI company.[4]
